CBFO Select

CBFO Select is in its inaugural season of competing on the local AAU circuit and is comprised of the best players from the CBFO Basketball League. This year we have a 6th Grade(12U) team that will be competing in several tournaments throughout the year. Coaches:

Coach David Vaught

Coach David Vaught played high school basketball locally for Central High School where he was All State and Honorable Mention McDonald’s All American. He was          signed by Coach Tubby Smith for VCU and later transferred to play at East Tennessee State University. During his career, he had the opportunity to play for many well      known coaches. Including JD Barnett, Tubby Smith, Dave Hobbs (former Alabama Head Coach), Les Robinson (former NC State Head Coach and member of the NCAA      Selection Committee), Dave Hanners (former UNC player and coach under Dean Smith as well as the NBA) just to name a few. David was invited to the Charlotte Hornets  Free Agent Camp after his college career.

David has served on the CBFO Board of Directors for 4 years and been on the Basketball Sub-Committee during that time. David enjoys working with the basketball  youth  of the community and stresses the importance of fundamentals and other things that will help them develop into high school players and beyond. David is currently the President of Medical Sales Solutions, a Medical Sales Recruiting Company. David is the father of active 11 year old twins Brooke and Pierce.
