Committee Bios

Chuck Johnson, CBFO Basketball Commissioner, is a 1982 graduate of Farragut High School. While playing his high school basketball career for the Admirals, he was selected to the All-State team during his junior and senior years. After graduation he signed with Auburn University. After staying for his freshman season, he decided to come back to Knoxville where he practiced with the University of Tennessee basketball team. After sitting out the year, and practicing with the team, he began playing as a Volunteer for coach Don Devoe. He then decided to transfer to Carson Newman to finish his basketball eligibility under coach Chris Jones. During his senior year as a Carson Newman Eagle, he was selected to the all NAIA, as well as, serving as team captain. Chuck graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Recreation from Carson Newman in 1987.His experience also includes playing and coaching in the AAU Junior Olympics. He has coached various youth sports including baseball, basketball, and running youth basketball camps and clinics for 30 years. For the past few years he has been coaching CBFO basketball and serving as the CBFO Basketball Commissioner. Having coached youth teams in CBFO, WBBL and KYS, Chuck is using his experience to better serve the youth and their families in the community. He has been married for 18 years to Sheri Johnson, and they have two sons named Cameron (15) and Landen (11).

Chase Scott, Basketball Committee Member, is 2008 graduate of Farragut High School. Chase grew up in Farragut and came through the CBFO system, playing football and basketball. While at Farragut High School, he played football for the Admirals and was selected captain of the 2007 football squad, who went on to be the first team to win a region championship since 1993. After graduating Farragut, he chose to hang up the cleats and go to the University of Tennessee, from where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Finance and minoring in Entrepreneurship. It was during his sophomore of college when he decided to begin giving back to the youth and high school programs that had given so much to him. He started in 2012 by coaching an 11 year old CBFO Football team, then was moved to the Middle School Football program, where he continues to coach now. He is also on the Farragut High School Football staff, where he has served since 2011. In 2013 he was invited to assist Commissioner Chuck Johnson and Asst. Commissioner David Vaught with CBFO Basketball. He was added to the Basketball and Football Committees in 2013 and invited to become a CBFO Board Member in 2014. He is also on the board of the Tennessee Future Stars and Battle in Rocky Top Tournament.  He now uses his experience to help youth football, youth basketball, and high school players better serve their community.

David Vaught, Basketball Committee Member, David has been a member of the CBFO Board of Directors since 2011 and has worked with basketball every since. A former high school player at Central High School, David received a scholarship to play basketball at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. After a year, he decided to finish his playing career at East Tennessee State University serving as Team Captain his Senior year. David has had the opportunity to play for many great coaches. He was recruited to VCU by Tubby Smith and played for Les Robinson at ETSU. After graduation, David worked in various roles in the Medical Device Sales industry and now is the President of Medical Sales Solutions, a Knoxville based Medical Sales Recruiting and Staffing Firm. David has twins involved in various CBFO sports and he coaches a team each season.
